For one low price, we take care of everything — including filing the necessary documents with the EPA. The process of scattering the ashes at sea are arranged by a fully licensed Coast Guard Master Captain. A handsome certificate, suitable for framing and commemorating the date and location of the scattering will be provided. If you select another crematory, the charges will be adjusted accordingly.
For those who own cemetery property, the cremated remains can be interred in a family plot. Honorably discharged veterans (and their spouses) can take advantage of niche or grave space at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, New York. Niche space is available L.I. National Cemetery in Pinelawn, N.Y. Veterans with high service awards may qualify for a niche at Arlington National Cemetery.
If you do not own memorial property, there are choices available, however, they can be expensive. You can purchase a grave or a niche in one of the many fine and reputable cemeteries or crematories in the Metropolitan area. Expenses can range between $800.00 – $5,000.00 for deeded space.
Our Atlantic ocean (off Long Island’s South Shore) and South Pacific (off the tropical Island of Maui) packages for scattering ashes at sea for NYC families are described in detail below. Our packages are very inclusive; death certificates ($15.00 per copy in New York City; $10.00 in N.Y.S.), permit fees and medical examiner fees are about the only items you will have to add.
